Think of weight loss as a practical solution for most of your health problems and you'll be in a better position to deal with your existing obesity. 1. Small changes help more - you'll find most obese people doing the most impossible things to keep a check on their rising weight. One popular way (which people think can take them a long way in losing weight) is dieting to the point of starving. Well, this is perhaps the last thing that you should do to lose weight. Dietary changes should be just a part of your agenda, if losing weight fast is your ultimate aim. There are some more changes that you need to incorporate if you want to see the best results. Don't try cramming in too much at the same time. Hitting the gym regularly may be beneficial but may not be the most enjoyable. Instead, try being as active as you can by taking the stairs (rather than the escalator) or perhaps by eking out 30 minutes a day to try your hand at aerobics.

2. Eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away - did you just get reminded of the old saying? Well, believe it or not it's more fact than fiction. Snacking on apples frequently will let you keep away from unhealthy foodstuffs. Also, apples have the ability to keep your blood sugar level in check. Start off by eating one apple a day and increase your intake along the way.

3. Shun your love for fast foods - burgers, sandwiches, fries, pizzas and more. You think of them and you go munch munch munch. This attitude won't do if you're hell bent upon doing something about your obesity. Fast foods are high in sugar and fats and can assist you only in gaining more. If you cannot help eating out in the weekend, go to a restaurant that serves healthy food. The best way to do it is by preparing yourself a healthy snack. This beats all else.

4. Refined foods are a complete no-no - are you eating too much sugar or wheat flour? If you are, you have reasons to get alarmed. Such refined foods deter the process of weight- loss badly. Rather have fibrous foods like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, oats etc. and see yourself in better shape.

5. Make positivity a part of you - one integral part of weight loss is feeling great about yourself. Try and be as positive as possible. See yourself in better light. Be determined but do not make much of a hue and cry about your efforts. If you think your efforts are paying off, reward yourself now and then with food you love eating.

You don't need to follow some complicated diet or eat a lot of strange foods or deny yourself good healthy food in order to lose weight. All you need to do is use a little common sense!
